Nashville, Tenn. (April 24, 2013) -- Billboard Magazine has announced the nominations for the upcoming 2013 Billboard Music Awards show next month, and Building 429 is nominated for Top Christian Song with its major hit, "Where I Belong." This marks the second time that the group and song have been recognized by Billboard Magazine, as Where I Belong was named 2012 Christian Song of the Year by the publication, and the single was the longest No. 1 song in the history of Billboard's NCA Chart. The 2013 Billboard Music Awards will take place at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev. on Sunday, May 19 and will air live on the ABC Television Network at 8:00 pm EDT.

"We are thankful to have been selected to represent the greater Christian music industry at the Billboard Awards this year," says Jason Roy, lead singer for Building 429. "It's an unbelievable honor that we cannot describe and we count it a privilege to be amongst such amazing artists in our category. We send a special thank you to all the fans who made this possible by taking our song and making it their own!"

Following the monumental success of its last project Listen To The Sound, the much anticipated new album, We Won't Be Shaken, releases June 4, 2013 and is already garnering strong support from radio and media. The title track and new single tied as the largest first radio add week in Christian music so far this year, and has achieved more than 16 million cumulative impressions to date. At the same time, Roy recently did an interview with the Recording Academy/ GRAMMYs at the historic Ryman Auditorium which can be seen here, www.GRAMMY.com. The album is confirmed to be the cover feature for CCM Magazine's and iBelieve Magazine's June issues, along with coverage from Worship Leader.com, Campus Crusade for Christ radio (Women Today / Lighthouse), Baptist Standard, JesusFreakHideout.com, Nashville's FOX 17 / TN Mornings and Nashville's More at Midday on WSMV-TV.

Building 429 recently completed the Newsboys' God's Not Dead! 2013 Spring Tour and just launched its headlining "Give Me Jesus" Tour with the Rhett Walker Band, Finding Favour and Carlos Whittaker. The tour's three-night opening weekend started out strong with three sell-out shows. The tour concludes May 17 in Georgia.

About Building 429:
Building 429, comprised of Jason Roy (vocals), Jesse Garcia (guitar), Michael Anderson (drums), and Aaron Branch (bass), released its fifth studio project, Listen to the Sound, on May 10, 2011. Produced by Jason Ingram (Chris Tomlin, Sanctus Real), Rusty Varenkamp (Tenth Avenue North, Sanctus Real) and Rob Hawkins (Fireflight, Anthem Lights), Listen to the Sound debuted at the top of iTunes' Christian & Gospel Albums chart. The title track hit No. 1 on the CHR chart and Top 5 on Billboard's National Christian Audience Chart. Follow up single "Made For You" reached Top 5 on the Christian CHR charts, while the project's third single, "Where I Belong," set precedent as the longest-running No. 1 song on the Billboard Christian Audience chart at 15 consecutive weeks. "Where I Belong" was Billboard's 2012 Christian Song of the Year and Christian AC Song of the Year. In addition, Building 429 was named Billboard's Christian Songs Artist of the Year and Christian AC Songs Artist of the Year for 2012.

Building 429 first broke through with its 2004 No. 1 hit "Glory Defined," which was named BMI's Christian Song of the Year in 2005. That same year, Building 429 was recognized as New Artist of the Year at the Gospel Music Association's Dove Awards. The group has since amassed a dedicated fan following, playing more than 150 live shows a year while developing its own touring brands "Winter Blast" and "Summer Blast."
